Plastic pet carriers are also good for crate training dogs. You can carry them around especially when you travel with your pet. Unlike wire cages, these do not give a clear view of your pet's surroundings as its three sides are enclosed.  Soft-sided crates are also an option but are not advisable for dogs that still have chewing problems.

Crate training dogs encourage your pet to actually go in and stay in the crate. You have to do this gradually if your dog is not yet accustomed to his crate. Let him stay in the crate for longer periods of time day by day until he gets used to his crate.

Crate training dogs should be paired with positive reinforcement. The crate should never be connected to negativity meaning, you shouldn't associate punishment to your pet's crate. This also means not leaving your pet inside the crate longer than necessary.

The success of crate training dogs also relies on proper furnishing of the crate. The crate must have a bedding if you r pet prefers to sleep on a soft surface. It must also have a water dispenser inside.

The crate should also have your pet's favorite treats and toys. His favorite snacks and chew toys very well be inside to keep him happy inside.
