Why a Dog Exercise Pen Will Stop You From Feeling Trapped!

The name "dog exercise pen" is really a misnomer, as it should never be used as a means to exercise your dog but more to manage and control your dog. It is simply not big enough to exercise a dog in and should never be used as a substitute for regular walks.

Regular exercise and the mental stimulation that dogs get from it cannot be substituted.

When you have a dog it is important to set up a long term designated area where your dog can be confined to when you have to go out for longer periods. It is really important for both you and the dog that you do this.

When you get a dog you can often feel trapped, because you don't want to go out and leave it for fear it will be destructive or make a mess. Having a confined area with a dog exercise pen means that you can go out go out but you will have the peace of mind knowing that your dog is safe and secure.

For The Dog

Dogs have to be left alone at some point and it is actually good for them, but the more time you spend with your dog the harder it is for them to deal with it, especially puppies Try leaving them alone on a regular basis for short periods to get them used to it.

The dog exercise pen should also include a dog crate or enclosure where the dog can naturally go if they get anxious. For puppies as part of the house training, the pen can also be used as a potty, until they learn to go outside.

Dog enclosures come in a variety of shapes and sizes including 24", 36" and higher. Some come with a door panel which enables you to gain access quickly. You can also attach a crate to the outside giving more internal space, but make sure that the dog cannot jump out over the top of the crate which may be lower than the height of the pen.
