Dog Crates are Essential for House Training Your Puppy

When it comes to house training your puppy, the importance of crate training is often misunderstood. Dog owners believe crating their dog for any length of time is mean. What you may not realize, training with dog crates is in truth one of the best ways to house training. Crates provide dogs their own little personal place which no one else could bother them. Why wouldn't your dog want a crate?

One thing to think about is that your dog is going to want to be with you no matter what. It is better to make sure the crate is a place where they can both see and hear everyone else. Another great benefit to training your dog with a crate is it provides a safe place where it can kept while you are out of the house or at work. You no longer need to worry about finding a mess when you get home. Senior canines can typically hold their bladder for a longer amount of time, but puppies go anywhere at anytime until they get used to going outside or using absorbent puppy pads.

Dog crate training is a wonderful means to move your pet when planning a vacation in which you want to take him or her along. Dog supplies like crates keep them calm, especially if they are already comfortable with being in a crate. Traveling in a familiar crate isn't that upsetting too. Don't forget to pack your puppy's favorite blanket or toy.

Another super benefit to crate training is if you own a larger breed of dog like a boxer or Labrador. You can put the dog in its crate if you have company visiting. While you may love your dog, some people are afraid of larger dogs and they can feel a little uncomfortable with it sniffing around them or jumping on them. If the dog is safely in its crate, it can ease the feelings of both your guests and your dog.

It is important to remember not to keep your dog in the crate for far too long. It will need to get out, stretch its legs, go to the bathroom, and get some exercise. While crates are often comfortable, your pet will need to get out and run. If not, its muscles will become cramped.

We all love our pooches. After it is effectively house-trained, don't forget to reward your dog for using the crate in the correct way. You've now just finished the long, satisfying road towards establishing an affirmative relationship with your dog.
